One morning, I walked into one of my favorite Target locations, list in hand and a special list at that. My sweet eight year old created a “honey do” for me the night before, with things like her favorite toothpaste, floss but spelled “flosse,” bathroom cups, and bandages (instead of bandaids) just to name a few. It was the cutest thing and at the top of the note she wrote in big bold print and arrow pointing down “Do not forget these” Guess she knew her Mama could get a little off track when she is in one her favorite one stop shops.
Of course even with the list in hand and best intentions to stay focused I was easily distracted by all the pretty merchandise Target has beautifully displayed on each aisle this season.
So lucky for you, I have gathered up some of my favorite things from this week’s shopping trip so you don’t get easily distracted and you can focus on the rest of your shopping list or better yet, take more time perusing that fun “dollar aisle” that always seems to capture my attention or wallet.
First off, I am still loving this season’s Target shoes. Pretty much every thing you see on my Target Tuesday editions will be something I already own or have tried on in the store to be sure I think it’s worth recommending.
If you have been following me for a while you know I adore any sort of animal print.
These shoes are so fun, they are comfortable and the perfect heel for all day wear. As a matter of fact, I packed them for my trip to Florida last weekend, wore them all day Sunday (got tons of compliments) and then on Monday when going from gate to gate at the airport, they were the best way to get around comfortably while in style.
How to Style: I would wear these shoes with a simple black or navy dress of course (keeping the rest of my accessories simple), and then for a more casual look, you can do boyfriend distressed jeans and white tee.
Speaking of white tees, my favorite is by A New Day. Check it out, and go ahead and order in other neutral colors while you are at it. You won’t be sorry.
The leopard print sandals would also look great with my other favorite Target steal which is the denim button down.
Here is one similar to the one I have had for years and have worn from spring, summer to fall! It’s a definite staple and for the price, you just can’t beat it!
How to style: For spring and summer, I love chambray tops with white jeans or olive green chinos. Then, you can bringit into fall with leather jacket.
You can also do this top with a lighter shade of jean shorts. Yes, you can do denim on denim with this pop of animal print or other pattern/color giving you a casual, effortless look.
My girls have these shoes too. How about that? They come in kid sizes! Check them out. It’s fun to match my girls while they are still cool with it.
Keeping the rest of your outfit simple, you can add some of these statement accessories that may or may not have come home with me.
Other finds of the week are shorts. Yes, shorts!
So I have to be honest, I am not usually a shorts kind of girl. I don’t love my legs (too many scars and they are just not pretty) but there are times you just need to have a few shorts to throw on for the beach, pool or just running around town on a hot day and I actually really love these.
The striped ones are just fun and can be dressed up or down.
The denim, I will wear with a white fisherman’s sweater, peasant lace blouse or a more tailored top.
Then, the black ones (which also come in olive green), I will wear over my bathing suits or just with my chambray tops and cool wedges.
So welcome to warmer weather and some cool, stylish options that are still kind to our wallets.
Thank you kindly, Target!
