Well, this illustration perfectly sums up my recent trip to Target with my kids. We went in looking for the perfect backpack, lunchbox, and locker essentials and came out with just a few other things that were not on our list. Imagine that?!
It was like something just took over us and before we knew it we had pjs, flip flops, throw pillows (thanks a lot Opal House) and OPI nail polish in Elephantastic pink because of course we need pretty pink nails before we go back to school. Isn’t that on your back to school list.
Luckily, we did accomplish most of what we came for along with some bonus goodies and what good am I to you if I don’t share what we loved and highly recommend. Also, lucky for you, Target has some major deals going on today and tomorrow (online only) . Gotta compete with Nordstrom Anniversary sale. So while I have done all the pre shopping for you, all you have to do is start adding to that little red cart of yours or big red cart. It’s up to you.
First off, this is what my soon to be middle schooler picked…all the links are included.
Embark, Elite backpack in seafoam/grey. This is the perfect size for a middle schooler for all their books, folders and even room for a laptop or tablet. I love the material too as it’s light yet sturdy and easy to keep clean with just a wipe of a washcloth. Right now it is just $40 and if you order today you can get it by Friday.
Now, I don’t remember water bottles being so cool when I was growing up but they have become quite the trend. You can pretty much dream up any design you want, and find it. So my eleven year old was bound and determined to find a marble looking design to complement her backpack color and to coordinate with her locker because if you don’t know this already, it’s all about the locker decor when you are in middle school. So if your little person is looking for marble stainless steel water bottle, look no further. Here it is!! Thanks to Target! Here is also a less expensive version and in different marble colors.
We are still looking for that perfect lunchbox. Right now, my particular little darling is leaning towards this one, but it doesn’t really go with the theme she has going so we are still not so sure.
I personally like the pattern and love that it expands if you need it to. We have had this particular brand before and it holds up very well. In fact, I have been using an older one when we go to the pool to keep all our snacks and drinks cold.
Moving on to my 8 year old and her picks. Of course, we got a little off task in the shoe and clothing department. She gets it naturally I’m afraid.
So here is what we ended up with since we already ordered her backpack on Amazon. Another place that is rolling in the deals this week! So don’t forget them!
Back to her fashion finds, check out this adorable jumpsuit. It’s so fun and it will even look cute with booties (or black Converse) and a denim jacket going into Fall.
Both of my girls have worn the heck out of these sandals so we got another pair. I have also featured the adult pair on the blog as my favorite of the summer. So you and your mini you could match. Why not!
Curious what other things are on sale until the 16th?
For one, this Turkish towel I featured for the Mother’s Day gift guide. Right now, it is on sale for $15.88.
It comes in all different colors. You could even use it in your bathroom as a decorative piece . Just a thought.
Then, a lot of home decor items like these Opal House pillows I scored and apparently couldn’t leave without. It’s pretty hard to find throw pillows less than $50. These are $19.99!
So to me, we were just mutltitasking during this Target back to school trip right? Right. Until next time… Happy Target Tuesday!
